## General Description

MOSS is a pilot iniative launched by the technology transfer office. The long-term goal of MOSS is to promote more sustainable outcomes for open source projects such as open source-specific funding (federal, industry, or foundation), spinouts (both profit and non-profit), hosting by an OS foundation, open source licensing models (ex. open-core) etc. Work focuses on building active communities around open source projects in order to develop pathways to sustainability.

## Core Objectives

- Offering promotion and community development for open source projects.
- Equipping open source project teams with the tools and resources to grow and sustain an active community.
